This time last year we were not only looking forward to Christmas but the opening of our new Café and soft play area March 2020!

As a business we are very lucky that an increasing amount of people enjoy Gardening. So much so that with the new Government restriction we are classified as essential

Fortunately I have enjoyed gardening all my life from a very young age. I do think recent events have given people the time to re think and re focus on the simple things in life which are so important to our whole wellbeing.

I would be really pleased if horticulture could be included in a school curriculum somewhere. Gardening and all it entails creates a comfort blanket in every soul, somewhere to retreat to when the going gets tough.

At the Bell Plantation Garden Centre, our plans are for a great gardening season in 2021. Plants and gardening remain the core of our business. Freddie and the team are in the process of buying all the products and plants for the next season.

The shock of the virus devastated English growers last year which meant our supply was very inconsistent, hopefully in 2021 that will not be the case.

As you probably know Freddie, my eldest son, is the MD and is responsible for all the Garden Centre, Café, Food hall and Poultry business (which he founded as a child when we lived on site).

Jethro my youngest son has recently joined the team to manage the property and development.

Luke has his own Landscape business and Sophie (currently on maternity, creating more Grandchildren) is involved with the gift and lifestyle buying.

As a family we are all assisted by a really fantastic team of people.

Have a great weekend

Ashley
