I know it’s hard to imagine at the moment with the weather so warm but we will soon be experiencing freezing conditions. With sub zero temperatures some plants will be vulnerable to death due to the frost. Plants most exposed are plants grown in containers, it is therefore important to wrap or insulate plants and pots that are very exposed or bring them inside out of freezing temperatures. Most terracotta pot failures are due to the compost inside the pot freezing and expanding and cracking the pot, it is therefore essential that the compost in the pot is free draining and there are pot feet under the pot to enable any water in the pot to drain out.

Our Christmas trees from Scotland are, as usual, beautiful trees – up to our supplier’s normal high standard. When the trees arrive they are all netted, they are then unwrapped so that you can individually choose
your tree!! (Some people make quick decisions and other customers are here for some time!!). We net the tree, trim to fit your Christmas tree stand and are happy to take it to your car.

Our team here at Bell Plantation Garden Centre would love to see you before Christmas to help you with any Christmas decoration, colour-coding or theming advice.

I am pleased to say my darling wife finished her chemotherapy and radiotherapy 2 weeks ago just in time for our son’s wedding last week to the newest beautiful Mrs Warren.

Have a great weekend
