A quick update on the farm
Rows of Rose
The David Austin St Swithun is a stunning variety of rose that produces huge deep cupped blooms with countless petals in shades of soft pink. This rose has been growing for almost 10 years and is well established here in this home.
Here Ashley had hard pruned this rose of his at the end of February which he recommends – ‘’ Hard pruning can be done early on – Say feb/march without affecting flowering too much. As it gets a bit later – late march or April – it’s best not to give them such a severe prune as it delays flowering’’
I’m cow-ming home
Pictured proudly here – Ash has been reunited with a very special family heirloom which made the farmers guardian. The article wrote –
‘’An 19th century oil painting of a Beef Shorthorn cow has found its way back the family it originally belonged to, after being put up for auction at the recent Beef Shorthorn Cattle Society’s annual awards dinner.
On seeing this advertised in the society’s January newsletter, Ashley Warren said he could not believe his eyes. Explaining how the painting held momentous nostalgic value to him, Mr Warren described how the white marked cow was one which had belonged to his step grandfather’s grandfather.’’
