Garden Jobs for September

Always a busy month in the garden! You’ll be reaping the rewards from the vegetable garden as well as getting the garden ready for winter/next season.

  • Plant spring flowering bulbs such as daffodils, crocus and hyacinth bulbs for spring flowering.
  • Divide herbaceous perennials such as Cyclamen, Salvia and Delphinium and water in well.
  • Dig up any remaining potatoes before slugs tuck in.
  • Continue to deadhead and feed hanging baskets/containers and you should enjoy colour until first frost.
  • September is the perfect time to plant Trees and Shrubs out for vigorous growth next spring.
  • Prune climbing roses and rambling roses after flowering (not if they are repeat flowering).
  • Clear out your Greenhouse and cold frames.
  • Cover ponds with nets before leaves drop
  • Collect and sow seed from perennials and hardy annuals

What Our Customers Think Of Us

So excited I discovered Bell Plantation On Friday, called in and was very impressed see you tomorrow.

Me and my daughters love coming to Bells. It is better retail therapy than any clothes shops!! The staff are always friendly and helpful. Well done!

I have only been to your venue once recently but found it very inspiring.
