Very exciting week Royal Ascot and all that stuff, for me the highlight was receiving 466 compost bins and a massive delivery of root furniture! The Aerobin 200 litre is a fantastic smaller version of the Aerobin 400 rrp £149. Makes compost quickly out of food and garden waste, the magic ingredient, no effort or vermin.
With the great growing conditions the box hedges have grown really fast, now Derby day has passed it is Ok to get them back into the shape you require. Buxus balls and hedging are a really hungry plant so feed them well with a well balanced fertiliser with equal amounts of nitrogen, phosphates and potash.
Our Bumble bees are doing really well after last week’s blog we had loads of interest in sending out more colonies.
The wind last weekend was an absolute menace, I knew when I planted my Robinia pseudoacacia Casque Rouge that it may succumb to wind, the inevitable happened. Planting delicate trees in an exposed garden is not ideal, I have learnt my lesson, back to Oak, Ash and Chestnut!
This Sunday 24th at the Garden Centre, Most Marvellous are organising a Vintage, antiques and hand – made crafts fair. Music, Arts and children (supervised) crafting activities.
Should be great fun.
Look forward to seeing you all
Have a great weekend
