Mr first blog in a while – Christmas is nearly upon us

Thank you to those of you who attended our Open Evening last Thursday and to those of you who tried coming that couldn’t get in!! We were absolutely amazed by the attendance and peoples reaction to our newly expanded business. Sheena and I have organised late night shopping events in December in previous years that have been reasonably well attended, never did we expect the attendance achieved last Thursday. We must have had 400 -500 people attend.
I am sure having the Towcester Brewery Shop on site helped alot.

The focus now our building work is nearly complete, is on making sure the plant area and the new car park is ready for the spring which is now only a few weeks away.

Plants are a great present, Steve has put together some wonderful planted containers for indoors and outside. Poinsettias are in abundance, with Cyclamen and Citrus plants.

A great outdoor flowering plant at this time of year is Helleborus niger, Christmas Rose. It is fully hardy and likes a north or eastern facing aspect in the garden. It flowers late winter early spring. It likes a site out of the wind and in free draining soil.
There are many hybrid varieties that produce colourful flowers, some have very attractive foliage.

For all Poultry keepers, make sure your hens are kept caged rather than free range as there is a threat of avian flue coming over from Europe. A great idea is to cover your chicken house with a fruit cage keeping your birds away from wild birds. If you need advice or help call Chris or John 01327 354126.

We have got hundreds of beautiful Nordman and Spruce trees in stock from 4 ft to 8 ft trees.

Father Christmas is at Bell Plantation on Saturday 10th, 1 pm until 5 pm, Sunday 11th,12 noon until 4.00 pm and the same next weekend 17th and 18th.

Have fun
