4 Reasons to Buy Your Christmas Tree From Bell Plantation

Which tree is perfect for your home?

A freshly cut Christmas Tree

Our most popular tree, the Nordmann Fir, is renowned for its exceptional quality. These trees are carefully selected and cultivated in Scotland, featuring big, soft needles that stay intact for the entire season.

Nothing beats the fragrance and aroma that a freshly cut Christmas tree can bring to your home. But there are lots of options with fresh trees depending on your house and lifestyle.

Nordmann Fir

By far our most popular tree is the Nordmann Fir. It has big, soft needles which will stay put for the season providing you take care of the tree properly. This makes it perfect for families with small children and/or pets, as well as those of us who hate the mess of dropped needles!

Potted Christmas Trees

If you’d like a tree that you can use year after year, our potted Christmas trees are perfect! Not only do pot grown trees have minimal needle drop, you can plant them out in your garden, or in to a bigger pot after Christmas, ready for the following year.

We have potted Nordmann in 60-80cm available in store

Caring For Your Tree

Treat it like cut flowers – cut 2 cm or 3 cm from the stump straight across using a handsaw. It’s easier than you think and helps the tree absorb water.Place your tree in a stand that holds water and generously water the tree every day (don’t add anything to the water). Depending on how warm the room is it can drink up to two litres daily.

Do not unwrap the tree until you have it exactly where you want it in the room, secure in its stand – otherwise you risk damaging the tree or injuring yourself on the branches/foliage.

In a perfect world, it’s best to leave the branches to settle for 24 hours before decorating – but we realise that excited children (and adults!) will probably not allow that to happen!

Word of warning – Putting a tree close to a heat source will dry it out. Your tree will lose its sheen and the branches will curl downward causing baubles to fall off.

Carry to car or delivery service

When you have chosen and paid for your tree, you can bring your vehicle round to our collection area and after having prepared it for you, we will load it in to your car. Or, if you would prefer, we can offer a delivery service.
